Man Arrested and Charged for Spree of Burglaries in Fairfax County, Virginia

The suspect, identified as Angel Argueta Galeas from Hybla Valley, was taken into custody after a report of a burglary in Oakton on Monday evening. Police responded to the incident at around 8 p.m. in the 3300 block of Willow Crescent Drive. Upon arrival, officers discovered that a man had entered a residence, stolen items from the home, and then proceeded to steal the victim’s Nissan Altima from the garage.

Later that night, around 11 p.m., officers from the West Springfield Police District responded to a suspicious person near DigiTech-PC Solutions on Clifton Road in Fairfax Station. As officers approached the scene, they observed a man walking away from the business. Despite commands from the officers, the man ignored them, entered a car, and fled the area. Upon investigation, it was revealed that the man had attempted to force entry into the business and had escaped in the stolen Nissan Altima.

At approximately 6:17 a.m. the following morning, police received a call regarding a burglary in progress at an occupied home located on Swift Trails Drive in Fairfax Station. The homeowner heard the sound of breaking glass and confronted the intruder before the suspect fled before the arrival of law enforcement.

Shortly after, another resident reported a suspicious vehicle on their property. Officers discovered the unoccupied vehicle, confirming that it was the stolen Nissan Altima from the previous night’s incident.

Despite extensive search efforts by the police in the area, the suspect remained elusive. However, at around 9:10 a.m., another homeowner living on Swift Trails Drive reported a possible sighting of the suspect inside a building on their property. Officers rushed to the scene, but unfortunately, the suspect had already fled.

Moments later, a third homeowner contacted emergency services to report a man breaking a window and entering her residence. Police swiftly arrived and successfully apprehended the serial burglar without incident.

The suspect, Angel Argueta Galeas, is facing multiple charges, including three counts of burglary, one count of trespassing with the intent to damage property, one count of possession of burglarious tools, two counts of grand larceny, one count of petit larceny, two counts of misdemeanor damage to property, and two counts of credit card theft. It is expected that additional charges will be filed in relation to the burglaries that occurred on Monday.

Currently, Angel Argueta Galeas is being held at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center without bond.

In a heartwarming gesture, authorities coordinated with a local Lowe’s store to provide assistance to one of the victims, a 93-year-old woman, in securing her home from the damage caused by the burglar. Lowe’s generously donated wood and other necessary supplies to facilitate the repairs. Recognizing the need for a more permanent solution, a local business, Circle Glass and Mirror in Fairfax, has pledged to contribute their time and resources to fix the victim’s broken window.
