Connecticut Police Release Video of “Person of Interest” in death of Woman Found in Shopping Cart

A Connecticut police department has recently unveiled a video footage of an individual they consider as a “person of interest” in connection with the mysterious death of a woman whose body was discovered in a shopping cart in a city parking lot last November.

The deceased woman has been identified as Rickeyta Baker, a 37-year-old resident of Bridgeport. According to the Bridgeport police, her lifeless body was found adjacent to a dumpster situated behind 1028 Stratford Ave. at approximately 4 p.m. on November 3, 2023.

Upon discovering the crime scene, the department’s Homicide Unit promptly assumed responsibility for the investigation. Detectives conducting the probe managed to uncover surveillance footage revealing a male individual who seemed to be wheeling Baker into the parking lot within a shopping cart. The video footage indicated that this incident occurred at around 3:30 a.m. on October 31, 2023.

Furthermore, the same individual was captured on video walking north of Fifth Street a few minutes later, as stated by the police. It is this specific footage that has now been released to the public, with the hope of identifying the person in question. Detectives have specifically urged the public to pay close attention to the individual’s gait and jacket, as they believe he may be familiar with the East End neighborhood and potentially reside there.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has performed an autopsy on the body of Rickeyta Baker. However, the results of the examination are currently pending, according to the police.
