Pastor Kerlande Williams and Marcelline Racine Shot Dead by Jilted Ex-Husband in West Palm Beach
‘She refused to answer my phone calls!’ A man from Florida has been accused of shooting dead a newly married couple, Pastor Kerlande Williams and his wife Marcelline Racine, at their residence in West Palm Beach. This tragic incident occurred just one month after the couple’s divorce was finalized.
On the day of the incident, Kerlande Williams and Marcelline Racine were installing surveillance cameras outside their home when Sony Josaphat, the jilted ex-husband, arrived. Allegedly, Josaphat shot the pastor and his nurse practitioner wife, killing them instantly.
According to a report by WPTV, Marcelline Racine had divorced Josaphat on November 22, seeking a fresh start.
Suspect Politely Greets Couple Before Tragedy Strikes
Described by Racine’s relatives as “controlling,” Josaphat told the police that she had been “disrespecting” him and ignoring his phone calls. On the morning of the incident, Josaphat parked his vehicle across the street from the couple’s residence. He then walked through their yard, offering a brief and polite greeting before pulling out a pistol and opening fire.
Tragically, Kerlande Williams and Marcelline Racine were left dead on the sidewalk in front of their home. Racine’s adult daughter, who was present at the time, witnessed the horrifying double murder.
Josaphat had arrived at the scene with his own adult daughter. Shortly after the incident, he identified himself as the suspect and turned himself in to the police.
