Man Faces Charges After Carjacking and Causing Crash in Laredo
LAREDO, Tx (KGNS) – A man is now facing charges after allegedly carjacking an individual and causing a destructive crash while attempting to evade arrest.
According to Laredo Police, the incident took place on Tuesday evening in the vicinity of the 5500 block of Marcella. The victim, who was driving their vehicle at the time, was forcefully removed from their car.
Law enforcement promptly responded to the scene and quickly located the stolen vehicle. However, the suspect behind the wheel attempted to flee, resulting in a hit and run collision at the intersection of Matamoros and San Leonardo.

After a pursuit, authorities managed to apprehend the suspect near Chihuahua and Monterrey Ave, close to a creek.
The suspect has been identified as 19-year-old Jose Angel Reyes. He is now facing charges of theft of a motor vehicle and evading arrest.
Fortunately, the victim of the carjacking did not sustain any injuries during the incident.
