Accident – death – Obituary News : Israeli Army Reports Internal Fire as Cause of Soldiers’ Deaths in Gaza Strip

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) issued a statement revealing that a number of soldiers were killed by internal fire in the Gaza Strip. The IDF attributed this tragic incident to various factors, including the large number of troops deployed in the field, the prolonged duration of the war, fatigue, lack of operational discipline, and inadequate coordination between forces. The IDF acknowledges that these operational incidents could have been prevented in most cases.

As reported by Sputnik, the Israeli army has acknowledged that out of the 20 soldiers killed by internal fire, 13 were mistakenly identified as “Palestinian forces.” This alarming error constituted over 10% of the total casualties caused by internal fire. The misidentification occurred during reconnaissance operations, including airstrikes, tank bullets, and shootings.

One notable incident occurred last week when a helicopter mistakenly targeted a building where Israeli forces were positioned. The ground forces had requested air support after identifying a group of Hamas forces, but due to a mix-up, the helicopter struck the wrong building.

In an article published by Yedioth Aharonot newspaper on Friday, it was revealed that operational incidents and internal fire during ground operations have claimed the lives and caused injuries to numerous Israeli soldiers. The military, mindful of the sensitivity surrounding casualties and the ongoing war, has not extensively reported on losses resulting from internal fire. However, during the recent ceasefire period, a preliminary investigation was conducted to address this issue.

Towards the end of last month, the Israeli army reported the deaths of eight soldiers due to internal fire within a week. This further highlights the urgency to address the issue and implement preventive measures.

According to ISNA, the occupation war in the Gaza Strip has now entered its 67th day, characterized by intense bombings targeting hospitals, shelters, schools, houses, and vital infrastructure. Resistance efforts, particularly in Khan Yunis, Shujaiyeh, and Jabalia, have been met with fierce Israeli aggression. The ongoing conflict, commencing with the Palestinian resistance’s Al-Aqsa storm operation, has led to the martyrdom of over 18,000 Palestinians, with approximately 48,000 others sustaining injuries. The destruction of Gaza’s infrastructure has resulted in an unprecedented humanitarian crisis.

Despite international organizations’ calls to halt the war and the continuous atrocities committed by the Zionist regime against the people of Gaza, the US State Department recently approved the sale of cannonballs for Israeli tanks. This decision has drawn criticism as it seemingly supports the ongoing conflict and perpetuates the suffering of innocent civilians.

In conclusion, the IDF’s acknowledgment of internal fire causing casualties among its soldiers in the Gaza Strip sheds light on the need for improved operational discipline, coordination, and preventive measures. The prolonged conflict continues to inflict immense suffering on both Palestinians and Israelis, demanding urgent international attention and efforts towards a peaceful resolution..
