The incident took place on U.S. 59 near downtown Houston, with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office now investigating the shooting. Fortunately, the targeted driver managed to avoid being hit by the bullets, as they struck his truck instead.

Eyewitnesses reported that the victim promptly passed the shooting suspect, dialed emergency services, and simultaneously spotted a Harris County deputy on the highway. The victim honked at the deputy to gain his attention, rolled down his window, and recounted the harrowing experience.

Acting swiftly, the deputy identified the suspect as 31-year-old Ariel Reynosa Flores and attempted to initiate a traffic stop. However, Flores refused to comply and instead initiated a chase.

During the pursuit, Flores collided with two other vehicles before abandoning his own near N. MacGregor and Almeda, fleeing on foot from deputies.
