Accidents involving multiple vehicles often result in more severe injuries. There are several reasons why collisions with multiple vehicles tend to be more devastating. The impact can be more severe as a particular vehicle can be struck multiple times. Additionally, these crashes usually involve higher speeds than other types of accidents. Speeding alone claims the lives of approximately 11,000 people in the United States annually. Other forms of negligent driving, such as intoxication, distraction, and fatigue, also contribute to multi-vehicle accidents.
Furthermore, if a larger vehicle, such as an SUV, bus, or truck, is involved, the chances of suffering injuries increase even further.
