Accident – Death – Obituary News : New Video Shows Man Attempting to Break into Cohasset Police Station with a Chainsaw
A shocking video was released on Tuesday, revealing the traumatic moments when a man wielding a chainsaw tried to cut his way into the Cohasset police station a year ago. The suspect, identified as 35-year-old Brien Buckley, later returned home and put his two young children in danger during a lengthy standoff with law enforcement.

According to the police, Buckley faced multiple charges in connection to both incidents. Surveillance footage from the front door of the police station captured the terrifying scene. Buckley drove his pickup truck onto the lawn and parked it on the walkway before stepping out of the vehicle and revving up a chainsaw. He proceeded to hack apart a box on the stoop before entering the building.
Once inside, the suspect relentlessly carved away at a door in an attempt to gain access to the offices of the Cohasset Police. Despite his efforts, he was unsuccessful and eventually left the scene. Photos taken inside the department showed the damaged door covered in brown paper and police tape.
Cohasset Police Chief William Quigley described the incident, stating, “He went in and basically terrorized the civilian desk attendant who was behind the security door and glass. He also caused damage to the lobby with the chainsaw before fleeing the police station.”
Officers tracked Buckley back to his residence, where a prolonged standoff ensued. Thankfully, the children were safely removed from the house and are now under the care of family members. Buckley was transported to a hospital for a mental health evaluation before being released and transferred back to police headquarters.
