Two Men Arrested and Stolen Car Recovered in Bellevue Square Mall

BELLEVUE, Wash. — Two individuals were apprehended, and a stolen vehicle and firearm were recovered by Bellevue police after receiving a tip-off from Bellevue Square Mall security personnel.

On Friday, around 2:30 p.m., an officer from Kemper Security noticed a suspicious car in the west parking garage of the mall, as reported by the Bellevue Police Department.

The officer immediately noticed a pistol placed in plain sight next to the front passenger seat of the vehicle. Upon checking the license plate, it was discovered that the car had been reported stolen in Renton.

Bellevue police swiftly arrived at the scene and approached two men who had just exited the mall, having arrived in the stolen car. One of the men, a 26-year-old from Seattle, was identified as the alleged driver of the stolen vehicle. During a search, officers found a loaded gun on him, which was also reported stolen. Additionally, it was revealed that the individual was a convicted felon, thereby prohibited from possessing firearms.

The police also arrested a 19-year-old man from Seattle, who was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm due to being underage.

Both firearms were seized by the police, who discovered that the gun found in the stolen car had been illegally modified with an attachment, effectively converting it into a fully automatic pistol.
