Ludhiana Accident: One Dead, One Critically Injured in Bike Collision

Ludhiana, a city in the Indian state of Punjab, witnessed a tragic accident on Saturday night that claimed the life of a 17-year-old boy and left his 21-year-old brother critically injured. The incident occurred near Tibba, and the police are currently investigating the matter.

The deceased has been identified as Suraj Kumar, while his injured brother is named Subodh Kumar. Subodh is currently receiving treatment at the civil hospital, where doctors have described his condition as serious.

According to Rajan, a friend of the victims, the two brothers were returning home after purchasing vegetables from a market when a speeding bike collided with them. The impact of the crash was so severe that Suraj was thrown into the air and landed on his head, resulting in his immediate death.

The Sahnewal station house officer, Inderjit Singh Boparai, has confirmed that an FIR (First Information Report) has been registered against the unidentified biker under IPC sections 279 and 304-A. Although CCTV cameras are installed near the accident spot, authorities have been unable to retrieve clear footage of the incident. However, efforts are underway to trace and apprehend the accused.

This unfortunate incident serves as a reminder of the importance of road safety and the need for strict enforcement of traffic regulations. It highlights the devastating consequences that can result from reckless driving and the potential dangers pedestrians face on the roads.
