The Nigerian Air Force Eliminates Terrorist Kingpin and His Fighters in Niger State

A spokesperson for the Nigerian Air Force, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, disclosed that Yellow Janbros and his fighters were intercepted as they attempted to cross the Jikudna River in Galadima Kogo District, en route to the Wurukuvhi axis of Chikun LGA. It should be noted that the terrorists were emboldened by the assumption that air strikes had been suspended due to an accidental strike in Kaduna.

The successful air strike, which took place on Wednesday, 6th December 2023, in the Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State, resulted in the elimination of numerous terrorists, including Yellow Jambros, who was a dreaded terrorist and notorious kidnap kingpin. The precision strike not only neutralized Yellow Janbros and his accomplices but also destroyed their 18 motorcycles and sank their boat as they attempted to cross the river.

Prior to the strike, Yellow Janbros and his group had been closely monitored after their entry into Niger State from Zamfara State. They were observed riding 13 motorcycles along the Kaduna-Niger State border, heading towards Kusasu in Shiroro LGA. At Kusasu, they were joined by five more motorcycle-riding terrorists, bringing the total number of motorcycles to 18. From there, they proceeded towards the bank of River Jikudna.

Desperate to link up with other terrorists on the opposite side of the river, Yellow Janbros and his group boarded a large motor-powered canoe at the river bank. However, it was at this crucial moment that the authorization to carry out the air strike was granted. The precision strike proved to be highly effective, eliminating Yellow Janbros and his colleagues, destroying their motorcycles, and sinking the boat.

It is worth mentioning that the audacity of Yellow Janbros and his group to travel in broad daylight in a convoy of 18 motorcycles was unusual. This suggests that they took advantage of the perception that air strikes had been halted following an unfortunate incident in Tudun Biri, Kaduna State.

Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet emphasized that Yellow Janbros and his fighters were responsible for numerous atrocities committed along the Abuja-Kaduna road, as well as in other communities spanning Niger, Katsina, Kaduna, and Zamfara states. The impact of their activities had been far-reaching, causing immense fear and suffering among innocent civilians.

In an alarming revelation, it was discovered that Yellow Janbros had been providing support to a notorious kidnapped kingpin named Mohammed Sani. Sani, who was responsible for the murder of over 50 victims due to their inability to pay ransom, claimed that he received fake military and police uniforms, guns, and other weapons from Yellow Janbros to facilitate his criminal operations. This highlights the extent of Yellow Janbros’ involvement in criminal activities and the importance of his elimination in maintaining peace and security in the region.

The Nigerian Air Force remains committed to the fight against terrorism and will continue to collaborate with other security agencies to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all Nigerians. The successful operation in Niger State serves as a significant blow to the activities of terrorists and their cohorts, reinforcing the determination to rid the country of these threats.
