Chesterfield County Police Investigate String of Unexplained Deaths in Central Virginia Homes

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Authorities in Central Virginia are conducting multiple investigations into a series of unexplained deaths that have occurred in homes throughout the region in the span of less than two weeks.

As law enforcement agencies continue their efforts to unravel the circumstances surrounding these tragic incidents, 8News has reached out to the Henrico County Police, New Kent County Sheriff’s Office, and Chesterfield County Police Department for updates on their respective investigations.

Henrico County: Father and Son Found Dead at Home

On Monday, November 27, at approximately 11:45 a.m., Henrico Police responded to a distress call from the 11000 block of Little Five Loop. Upon arrival, officers discovered the lifeless bodies of 70-year-old Albert Moody and his 38-year-old son, Malcolm Moody, inside their residence.

Eric Phillips, an anchor at 8News, spoke with Monica Ware, a family member of the victims, who shed light on their lives and the impact they had on their loved ones and the community.

As of Sunday, December 10, Henrico Police have not yet identified any suspects in connection with the deaths and are actively pursuing leads in their ongoing investigation.

New Kent County: Two Found Dead in Residence

Less than two weeks later, on Thursday, December 7, authorities in New Kent County responded to a call reporting two deceased individuals at a home on New Kent Road. Deputies from the New Kent County Sheriff’s Office arrived at the scene at approximately 8:36 p.m. and confirmed the presence of the deceased inside the residence.

As of Sunday, December 10, the identities of the deceased individuals have not been disclosed, pending further investigation. New Kent police have assured the public that there is no immediate threat to their safety and have not identified any suspects related to the incident.

Chesterfield County: Unexplained Deaths Raise Questions

In yet another unsettling occurrence, two individuals were discovered deceased inside a home in Chesterfield County on Friday, December 8. Officers from the Chesterfield Police were dispatched to the 700 block of Biggin Pond Road, near Coalbrook Drive, following a report received after 6 p.m. Authorities have stated that no signs of foul play were found.

As of Sunday, December 10, no further updates have been provided regarding this incident as investigators work diligently to uncover the circumstances surrounding the unexplained deaths.

Henrico County: Man Fatally Shot on Fairfield Avenue

On Saturday, December 9, Henrico Police responded to a shooting report in the 2800 block of Fairfield Avenue. Authorities discovered the lifeless body of an unidentified man at the scene. The investigation into this incident is still in its early stages, with a formal update anticipated on Monday, December 11.
