Accident – Death – Obituary News : LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — A tragic accident in the southeast valley of Las Vegas has claimed the life of a motorcyclist who sustained life-threatening injuries. The incident occurred on December 2 at the intersection of East Flamingo Road and McLeod Drive, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
The crash involved a 52-year-old man named John W., who was driving a 2019 Nissan Frontier westbound on E. Flamingo Road towards McLeod. At the same time, a 29-year-old motorcyclist was riding eastbound on Flamingo Road in the right-turn lane, approaching McLeod.

It was at this point that the collision took place. The Nissan attempted to make a left turn to head south on McLeod, just as the motorcyclist was passing through the intersection from the right-turn lane. The motorcyclist, riding a 2001 Yamaha R6, collided with the left front of the Nissan, resulting in the rider being ejected and redirected to the east.
The driver of the Nissan immediately pulled over and remained at the scene of the accident. Las Vegas police have confirmed that the driver showed no signs of impairment. However, the motorcyclist sustained severe injuries and was rushed to Sunrise Hospital’s Trauma Center.
Sadly, despite all life-saving efforts, the 29-year-old motorcyclist succumbed to his injuries. The Clark County Office of the Coroner / Medical Examiner notified the police of his passing on Friday, December 8. This devastating incident marks the 144th traffic-related fatality in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s jurisdiction for the year 2023.
The authorities are currently conducting an investigation into the collision. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Collision Investigation Section is dedicated to uncovering the circumstances surrounding the accident. They will thoroughly analyze the evidence and gather witness statements to determine the factors that contributed to this tragic incident.
