Three Arrested After Brutal Murder in Uttar Pradesh’s Kannauj District

Three individuals have been apprehended by the police following a horrifying incident in Uttar Pradesh’s Kannauj district. The accused, identified as Suraj, Ankur, and Lalit, who were known friends of the victim, allegedly slit the throat and decapitated him. The incident took place in the victim’s rented accommodation during a party that they were all attending.

The victim, Pradeep, a 30-year-old resident of Pahalwanpurwa in Kannauj, had invited his friends over for a gathering. Unfortunately, an argument erupted between Pradeep and his friends, escalating to a point where the three accused attacked Pradeep, ultimately resulting in his throat being slit.

After committing the gruesome act, the assailants disposed of Pradeep’s body outside the farmhouse owned by former Samajwadi Party MLA Rajeshwar Singh from Etah. They left his body on a road leading from the Ganga Barrage to Bithoor. In a shocking display, the attackers also crushed Pradeep’s head using bricks.

The incident was witnessed by the security guard of the adjacent farmhouse, who promptly informed the Nawabganj police station. Acting on the information provided by the guard, the police swiftly arrested the three accused individuals.

Preliminary interrogation revealed that all three perpetrators claimed the murder was a result of a dispute that occurred while they were under the influence of alcohol. Subsequently, a murder case has been registered against the trio. The clothes worn by the accused were found stained with blood, corroborating the brutal act.

Akmal Khan, ACP Colonelganj, stated, “The incident occurred between 3 am and 4 am during the night. The clothes and hands of the three arrested murderers were stained with blood. There was also blood found on an e-rickshaw nearby. The forensic team has collected evidence from the crime scene, and all three suspects are currently undergoing interrogation.”

According to the police, one of the accused was apprehended at the scene of the crime, while the other two managed to escape initially. However, the authorities were successful in capturing the remaining two individuals later on.

The family members of the deceased have departed from Kannauj to Kanpur, and the victim’s body has been sent for post-mortem examination to ascertain the precise cause of death.
