Fatal Accident Leaves One Dead and Another Injured on FM 819 near Lufkin

LUFKIN, Texas – Tragedy struck early Sunday morning as a severe single vehicle accident claimed the life of one individual and left another injured on FM 819, just south of Lufkin. The incident, which occurred at approximately 2 a.m. on December 10, has left the local community in shock.

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) released a statement indicating that two occupants were traveling southeast in a Ford pickup truck along FM 819, near FM 2108. The driver lost control of the vehicle, veering off the road to the left and colliding with a concrete culvert. The impact caused the pickup to strike a second concrete culvert before overturning, resulting in both the driver and passenger being ejected from the vehicle.

Local authorities have identified the deceased as Bradley Napier, a 42-year-old resident of Lufkin. Sadly, Napier was pronounced dead at the scene by an Angelina County Justice of the Peace. The second occupant, identified as 38-year-old Winston Conway, also from Lufkin, suffered injuries and was immediately transported to St. Joseph Health Regional Hospital in Bryan for further medical attention.

The Texas DPS is currently conducting a thorough investigation to determine the exact cause of the tragic incident. The community remains in mourning as they await further updates on this devastating accident.
