Suspect Arrested in Augusta County Road Rage Incident

AUGUSTA COUNTY, Va. (WHSV) – The Augusta County Sheriff’s Office provided an update on the ongoing investigation of a disturbing road rage incident that took place in Stuarts Draft.

According to the authorities, the incident unfolded on November 8th at around 10:47 p.m. The road rage altercation initially occurred on Draft Avenue and then spilled over onto Wayne Avenue. The confrontation finally came to a halt near Schneider Park, where both drivers involved brought their vehicles to a stop. The situation escalated further as both individuals exited their cars and engaged in a heated argument. It was during this heated exchange that the suspect, identified as 42-year-old Ma’ Aquil Ni’mill Littlejohn of Stuarts Draft, brandished a pistol and struck the victim on the side of the head.

The Augusta County Sheriff’s Office revealed that, during the assault, the firearm was discharged, but fortunately, the victim narrowly avoided being hit by the bullet. Subsequently, law enforcement authorities obtained warrants for Littlejohn’s arrest, and on December 11th, he was apprehended without incident.

The suspect, Littlejohn, now faces multiple charges, including:

  • Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, VA Code: 18.2-308.2
  • Use of a firearm during the commission of a felony, VA Code: 18.2-53.1
  • Discharging a firearm in a public place, VA Code: 18.2-280
  • Reckless handling of a firearm, VA Code: 18.2-56.1

  • Two counts of Brandishing a Firearm, VA Code: 18.2-282
  • Capias for violating the conditions of his release
