Delhi Police Apprehends 34-Year-Old Individual Involved in Multiple Criminal Activities

A 34-year-old individual, known as Rohit and residing in Tilak Nagar, Delhi, has recently been apprehended by the Delhi Police on charges related to a series of criminal activities. These include assaults on police teams, robbery, extortion, and violations of the Excise Act. Rohit is believed to be associated with the infamous Salman Tyagi-Saddam Gauri gang, known for its ties with the notorious gangster Neeraj Bawana.

The arrest of Rohit follows intelligence indicating his attempts to revive the gang by collecting funds under the directives of Salman Tyagi and Saddam Gaur. Evading arrest for a significant period, Rohit was wanted in connection with at least seven previous criminal cases. Moreover, a non-bailable warrant was issued against him by Tis Hazari Court on November 18.

During the arrest operation, the Delhi Police recovered a semi-automatic pistol of .32 bore along with three live cartridges from Rohit’s possession. Additionally, he was wanted in a case related to the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime (MCOC) Act in Delhi’s Hari Nagar area.

Efforts to Capture Rohit

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell), Alok Kumar, revealed that the police received crucial information regarding Rohit’s movements in West Delhi. In response, teams, led by Inspector Karamvir Singh and ACP Ved Bhushan, were deployed to track him down. Rohit, known for frequently changing hideouts in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh to avoid capture, proved to be a challenging target. However, through meticulous technical surveillance methods, the police were able to pinpoint Rohit’s location near Dargah Chaukhandi in Tilak Nagar.

A meticulously planned raid ensued, during which Rohit attempted to flee but was ultimately apprehended by the determined police team.
