Arrested Man Involved in Multiple Criminal Cases, Including Assault on Police Teams, Robbery, and Extortion

A 34-year-old man was apprehended by the Delhi Police for his alleged participation in various criminal activities, such as assaulting police teams, robbery, extortion, and violation of the Excise Act, among others. The police have revealed that the detained individual is a member of the notorious Salman Tyagi-Saddam Gauri gang, which is closely associated with the infamous gangster Neeraj Bawana.

The arrested man, identified as Rohit, resides in the Tilak Nagar area of the national capital. During his arrest, the police recovered a semi-automatic pistol of .32 bore along with three live cartridges from his possession.

Prior to his arrest, Rohit was reportedly involved in at least seven other criminal cases. He was particularly wanted in a case related to the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime (MCOC) Act in Delhi’s Hari Nagar area, as stated by the police.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) Alok Kumar stated, “Rohit had been evading arrest for a significant period of time. A non-bailable warrant was issued against him by the Tis Hazari Court on November 18.”

Kumar further added, “We received information that Rohit was attempting to revive the gang by collecting funds on behalf of Salman Tyagi and Saddam Gaur. This led us to take action against him.”

DCP Alok Kumar informed that his team, led by Inspector Karamvir Singh and ACP Ved Bhushan, received intelligence regarding Rohit’s movements in West Delhi. He stated, “Consequently, we deployed multiple teams to track him down, as he frequently changed hideouts in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh to avoid arrest.”

“After conducting technical surveillance, we obtained the specific location of the suspect near Dargah Chaukhandi in Tilak Nagar, Delhi. A team swiftly raided the area and successfully apprehended Rohit. Despite his attempt to escape, the police team acted swiftly and managed to arrest him,” the officer explained.
