PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) – A 29-year-old man, Dacio Rodriguez Luna, was apprehended by Phoenix police on Sunday morning after allegedly stealing a vehicle and attempting to break into multiple cars. Luna now faces multiple charges related to the crime spree.

First Attempted Break-ins at Apartment Complex

The incident began around 5:15 a.m. when Phoenix police received reports of a man, later identified as Luna, attempting to break into several vehicles at an apartment complex near Indian School Road and Central Avenue. Fortunately, Luna fled the scene before officers arrived, and no crimes were committed during this incident.

Vehicle Robbery and Subsequent Break-in Attempts

Approximately an hour later, at 6:30 a.m., officers were called to the intersection of 7th Avenue and Osborn Road in response to a vehicle robbery. The victim reported that Luna had forcibly removed him from his car and driven away. Thankfully, the stolen vehicle was recovered shortly after. Just five minutes later, in the same vicinity, another report was made regarding Luna’s attempts to break into another car. However, Luna managed to escape before the arrival of law enforcement officers.

Break-in Incident at 11th Avenue and Osborn Road

Around 7:50 a.m., authorities received a call regarding a man who had broken into a vehicle at the intersection of 11th Avenue and Osborn Road. Fortunately, Luna left the scene without stealing anything before the police arrived.

Arrest at a Residential Property

At approximately 9:30 a.m., officers responded to a homeowner’s report of an intruder inside his house near 10th Avenue and Flower Street, just south of Osborn Road. Concerned for his safety, the homeowner was armed when the police arrived. Upon searching the residence, officers discovered Luna asleep inside the house. He was promptly awakened and taken into custody.

Linking Luna to All the Crimes

According to the police, Luna is connected to all the attempted car break-ins and the stolen vehicle. As a result, he has been booked into jail on various charges.
