Arrests Made in Lodi Homicide Case

A 15-year-old suspect and a 30-year-old man have been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a 15-year-old boy in Lodi, California. The Lodi Police Department announced the arrests, stating that the teenage suspect was booked into the Peterson Juvenile Hall, while the man was taken into custody and charged as a co-conspirator in the crime.

The shooting incident occurred on November 25th, at approximately 11:15 p.m., on the 600 block of Hale Road. The victim, later identified as 15-year-old Alan Ruiz, was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries.

Authorities have revealed that they believe the incident was a targeted attack, and investigations are ongoing to determine the motive behind the shooting.

Law enforcement agencies, including the California Highway Patrol, Tracy Police Department, and the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office, collaborated to locate and apprehend the co-conspirator, Alberto Valentin. When detectives arrived at Valentin’s residence in Lodi to serve a search warrant, he was not present. However, subsequent coordination efforts led to his arrest on Waterloo Road near Highway 99 by deputies from the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office.

The search of Valentin’s vehicle yielded the discovery of a firearm, leading to additional charges of weapons violations and gang enhancements being filed against him. He has been booked into jail on charges of homicide.

The Lodi Police Department continues its search for a suspect involved in another unrelated homicide case, where an employee of a local business was shot and killed. Authorities are actively investigating this incident and working to identify and apprehend the perpetrator.
