In a tragic incident that took place on Friday, December 8, a 21-year-old man was killed in a shooting in the Empalme Graneros neighborhood of Rosario. The victim, identified as Carlos González, was with his friend, Cristián P. (34), on a sidewalk when they were targeted by assailants on a passing motorcycle. Both men sustained gunshot wounds and were rushed to the Alberdi Hospital by private individuals.

Despite the efforts of emergency services, González succumbed to his injuries in the early hours of Saturday. His friend, Cristián P., remains hospitalized at the Rosario Emergency Hospital. The exact number of individuals on the motorcycle at the time of the attack is yet to be determined by authorities, who are currently reviewing security camera footage, gathering witness testimonies, and analyzing the crime scene for further clues.

The investigation into the incident has been assigned to prosecutor Luis Schiappa Pietra of the Intentional Homicide Unit. Initial findings have ruled out the possibility of an attempted robbery, as the assailants did not engage in any verbal exchange or altercation with the victims. The motive behind the attack remains unknown at this time.

In a separate case being handled by prosecutor Schiappa Pietra, a young motorcyclist named Elías Leonardo Vázquez, 29, lost his life while trying to escape from thieves who attempted to steal his motorcycle in the southern area of Rosario. Vázquez was intercepted by two criminals, who ultimately made off with his black Yamaha FZ after the motorcycle crashed into a light pole.

Witnesses have stated that Vázquez had just left a nearby factory when he was confronted by the thieves. He was not wearing a helmet at the time and sustained a fatal head injury upon colliding with the pole. One witness, who was with his daughter returning from work, mistakenly believed that the thieves were friends of Vázquez and tried to intervene. However, the criminals forcibly took the motorcycle and fled the scene.

Both cases are currently under investigation, and authorities are working diligently to gather evidence and identify those responsible for the crimes. The communities of Rosario are left shaken by these senseless acts of violence and are seeking justice for the victims and their families..
