Tragic Accident on Mumbai-Pune Expressway Claims One Life and Leaves Seven Injured

In a devastating incident, a 40-year-old man lost his life while seven others sustained severe injuries in a horrific collision between a bus and a trailer truck on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway in Raigad, Maharashtra. The tragic accident occurred in the early hours of Sunday at 1:40 am, causing a temporary halt in traffic on the expressway.

The ill-fated bus, en route from Mumbai to Pune, met with the accident at Khopoli in Raigad. Initial investigation reports suggest that the bus driver, Shirish Dhekale (43), lost control of the vehicle, leading to a collision with a trailer truck ahead. As a result of the impact, Raju Gawde, the second driver of the bus, tragically lost his life on the spot. Meanwhile, the injured passengers were immediately rushed to two nearby hospitals, where they are currently receiving treatment for their injuries.

In a separate incident, a heart-wrenching mishap took place in Dubhaura, Uttar Pradesh, where eight individuals, including a child, were burnt to death after their SUV collided with a truck and caught fire. The tragic incident occurred on the Bareilly-Nainital Road in the Bhojipur area on Saturday. Preliminary investigations suggest that a tire puncture might have been the cause behind the accident.

According to eyewitnesses, the SUV lost control and crossed over the barrier, colliding head-on with an oncoming truck from the opposite direction. The victims of this devastating accident, all residents of the Baheri area, are yet to be identified. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed his heartfelt condolences for the lives lost in this tragic incident.
