In a tragic incident, a family of three was discovered dead at a resort in Kaggodlu village near Madikeri in Karnataka’s Kodagu district on Saturday morning. The bodies of Vinod Babusenan (43), his wife GB Abraham (38), and their 11-year-old daughter Jane Maria Jacob were found at the resort, according to a report by the Times of India.

The police, who found a suicide note, believe that financial difficulties drove the couple to take such an extreme step. The couple had been running a business near Kollam in Kerala. The family had arrived at the resort on Friday evening, and according to the resort manager, they seemed to be in good spirits.

On the day of the incident, the family went for a walk around the resort after resting for a while in their cottage. They visited a nearby shop before returning for dinner. The resort staff were informed by Vinod that they would check out at 10 am the next day. However, when the family did not check out as planned, the staff grew concerned and went to check on them.

When the staff knocked on the door at 10 am, there was no response. Thirty minutes later, they tried again and noticed the family’s slippers outside the cottage. Suspecting something amiss, they looked through the window and discovered the couple hanging.

The resort immediately alerted the Madikeri Rural police station, and officers arrived at the scene. The bodies have been sent for postmortem, and the relatives of the deceased have been informed about the tragic incident. Police have initiated an investigation into the matter.

This incident comes just days after another shocking murder-suicide case in Uttar Pradesh. A doctor working at the Railway Hospital in Rae Barelli allegedly killed his wife and two children before taking his own life. The doctor’s colleagues reported the matter to the police after unsuccessful attempts to reach the family.

Depression is suspected to be a factor in the doctor’s case. Similarly, in a separate incident last month, a family of five was found dead in Sadashivanagar, Bengaluru, in what is believed to be a suicide pact. Financial problems and alleged harassment by money lenders were cited as the reasons behind that tragic event.
