Kodagu, Karnataka: A shocking incident unfolded at a serene resort in Kaggodlu village, Kodagu, where a couple allegedly killed their 11-year-old daughter before taking their own lives. The deceased have been identified as Vinod Babusenan (43), his wife, GB Abraham, and their young daughter, Jane Maria Jacob (11).

According to a police official, a suicide note was discovered at the crime scene, revealing that the family’s dire financial crisis had pushed them to take this extreme step. The family, originally from Kerala’s Kollam, arrived at the resort on Friday evening in their SUV and checked into their cottage at approximately 6 pm. The resort staff mentioned that the family appeared to be in good spirits when they went for a walk around the premises, with no signs of distress or unusual behavior. Aanand, the resort manager, confirmed this.

After their stroll, the family returned to the cottage for dinner and informed the staff that they would be checking out at around 10 am the next day. However, when the family failed to do so, the concerned staff members went to their cottage to check on them. After receiving no response, they attempted again after 30 minutes. It was during this second attempt that they noticed the family’s slippers outside the cottage, raising suspicions. Peeking through the window, they were horrified to discover the lifeless bodies of the couple, who had hanged themselves. Immediately, the staff alerted the Madikeri Rural police station, and the authorities rushed to the scene to recover the bodies.
