Jasper, UK – In a recent turn of events, local authorities responded to a call for assistance from the Dubois County Probation officers at 392 3rd Avenue on Saturday morning, December 9th. The Jasper Police arrived promptly at 11:40 AM to aid in a probation search. However, what they uncovered was even more alarming.

Upon their arrival, the unmistakable odor of marijuana wafted from a different apartment within the same residence. The officers swiftly entered the premises and discovered 56-year-old Christopher Ferguson alongside two females, later identified as 39-year-old Sherry Morey and 57-year-old Verna Winkler. Seeking consent to search the apartment, the officers were met with denial, prompting them to begin the process of obtaining a search warrant.

However, as the officers were in the midst of securing the warrant, Ferguson displayed non-compliance and actively resisted the law enforcement officials. Eventually, he was apprehended and taken into custody. During the arrest, it was revealed that Ferguson had possession of methamphetamine, meth paraphernalia, marijuana, and related paraphernalia on his person.

With the warrant now granted, the officers proceeded to search the apartment and the vehicle parked nearby. This thorough search yielded further discoveries of illegal narcotics and additional paraphernalia, solidifying the charges against Ferguson. As a result of his resistance and subsequent arrest, Ferguson required medical attention and was transported to the hospital before being taken to the Dubois County Security Center.

On the other hand, Morey and Winkler, who were also present at the scene, were issued summonses to appear in court for their involvement in the possession of marijuana and paraphernalia. Following the issuance of the summonses, they were released on-site.

The Dubois County Sheriff’s office provided essential assistance during the operation, ensuring the safety and security of all parties involved.

Christopher Ferguson now faces an array of charges, including resisting law enforcement, which is classified as a Level 6 Felony. Additionally, he is charged with possession of methamphetamine, another Level 6 Felony, as well as possession of marijuana and paraphernalia, both of which are categorized as misdemeanor charges.
