Man Arrested for Allegedly Attacking Elderly Woman While Boarding Muni Bus in San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO – A man has been taken into custody by the San Francisco police on charges of elder abuse and assault. Collin White, the alleged suspect, is accused of attacking a 76-year-old woman as she was attempting to board a Muni bus in September. The incident, which was caught on surveillance footage, shocked the local community.

The Incident

On September 7, the victim was in the process of boarding a Muni bus at the intersection of Mission and 16th streets when she was violently pushed by a suspect, causing her to fall backwards and hit her head on the sidewalk. The impact was so severe that she lost consciousness, but miraculously survived the ordeal, albeit with significant injuries.

Unprovoked Attack

According to the San Francisco Police Department, the surveillance footage clearly shows that the suspect intentionally targeted the elderly woman in an unprovoked attack. After pushing her, he quickly exited the bus without offering any assistance or showing any remorse, while the victim screamed for help in agony.

Identification and Arrest

Thanks to the diligent efforts of investigators, Collin White was eventually identified as the alleged attacker. On Monday, a sergeant from the Police Department’s Mission Station successfully located and apprehended White. He was subsequently booked into jail on charges of felony assault, elder abuse, and parole violation.
