Accident – Death – Obituary News : New Delhi: A 28-year-old constable was brutally attacked and stabbed by a criminal in northwest Delhi’s Adarsh Nagar. The victim, identified as Bhupender, along with another constable, had gone to apprehend two criminals who were planning a robbery. However, during the arrest, one of the suspects retaliated by stabbing Bhupender twice, once in the chest and once in the hand. While one of the accused was successfully overpowered, the attacker managed to flee the scene.

The incident took place when the police received information at 10:45 pm on Friday about the movement of Ajay alias Ganja, a notorious criminal from Azadpur with a history of involvement in robbery cases. Acting on the tip-off that he was planning another crime, a team of police officers reached the fish market near the railway track in Wazirpur at 11 pm.

Upon arrival, the police officers found Ajay and his associate, Akash, sitting and consuming some intoxicating substance. As soon as they spotted the police team, both suspects attempted to flee. Bhupender, in an attempt to restrain Ajay, was viciously attacked with a knife, resulting in stab wounds to his chest and right hand. While the team managed to apprehend Akash, the 18-year-old accomplice, the main attacker, Ajay, managed to escape.

Bhupender was immediately rushed to the hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment for his injuries. The constable’s bravery in the face of danger is commendable, as he risked his own safety to protect the community from criminals.

A case has been registered at the Ashok Vihar police station under sections 186, 353, 307, and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The sections include charges of obstructing a public servant in the discharge of public functions, assault or criminal force to deter a public servant from the discharge of his duty, attempted murder, and acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention. Multiple police teams have been formed to track down and arrest the absconding attacker.

In January, an assistant sub-inspector named Shambhu Dayal lost his life after being stabbed multiple times by a snatcher in West Delhi’s Mayapuri. Despite being attacked, Dayal managed to prevent the suspect from escaping, and with the help of other officers, the assailant was apprehended.

In related news, a man accused of robbery reportedly stabbed a Delhi Police constable during an apprehension attempt in the Adarsh Nagar area. The injured constable, Bhupender, is currently receiving treatment at Fortis Hospital. The suspect, Ajay, also known as Ganja, is wanted in seven cases related to the Arms Act and robbery in the same area. The incident unfolded when a police team sought to arrest Ajay and his friend Akash, who were involved in a snatching and robbery case near Macchi Market in Wazirpur. While Akash was successfully apprehended, Ajay managed to escape after stabbing Bhupender.

In another incident, a man wielding a steak knife killed four members of his extended family, including two children, at a home in Queens, New York City. The suspect, a 38-year-old, stabbed two police officers before being shot dead by the police. The suspect had previously been arrested over a domestic violence incident. The incident also resulted in a 61-year-old woman being stabbed and left in critical condition. The suspect further aggravated the situation by setting fire to a couch in the home’s living room, delaying the police’s entry into the house.

Closer to home, a 19-year-old gym helper named Neeraj was allegedly stabbed to death in the Trilokpuri area of east Delhi. The accused, an 18-year-old named Deepak alias ‘Lucky,’ claimed that he resorted to the act as a revenge measure, alleging that Neeraj had been stalking his sister. The altercation occurred on the road between Block Number 18 and 19 in Trilokpuri. Deepak, who worked as a night guard in Kale Khan, has been arrested, and the weapon used in the crime has been recovered. The police have registered a murder case, and investigations are ongoing.
