The mishap took place at 1:40 am near Khopoli in Raigad when a private bus, en route from Mumbai to Pune, collided with a trailer truck, causing disruption to traffic movement on the expressway.

According to a police official from Raigad, the bus driver, Shirish Dhekale (43), lost control of the vehicle, leading to the collision with the trailer truck ahead. Tragically, Raju Gawde, the second driver of the bus who was seated next to Dhekale, was killed on impact. Gawde, a resident of Sangli, met with an untimely demise at the scene of the accident.
