Beckley Police Investigate Homicide Following Sunday Shooting

BECKLEY, W.Va. — Authorities in Beckley, West Virginia, are intensifying their investigation into a fatal shooting that occurred on Sunday, treating the incident as a homicide.

The incident unfolded in the early hours of Sunday morning at around 1:20 a.m. when Beckley Police received reports of gunshots fired on Clyde Street. Promptly responding to the scene, officers discovered a male victim who had sustained a single gunshot wound.

Despite the efforts of emergency medical services (EMS) to resuscitate the victim, identified as 20-year-old Traysouan Robertson from Beckley, their attempts were in vain. Tragically, Robertson was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Beckley Police Department’s Detective Bureau has now taken over the investigation and is actively treating the case as a homicide. They are diligently working to gather all available evidence and follow up on any leads that may aid in determining the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
