The Washington County community was left devastated by the tragic incident that unfolded on Friday night, claiming the life of an innocent seventh-grade student at Twality Middle School in Tigard. The young victim, identified as Andy Granados, tragically lost his life in a single-vehicle crash.

According to authorities, the incident occurred when the driver, identified as 19-year-old Jesse Granados-Villegas and a relative of the victims, lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a curve on Southwest River Road near Southwest Farmington Road. The devastating crash occurred at approximately 9 p.m. and resulted in the loss of young Andy Granados’ life.

Tragically, Andy was not the only passenger in the vehicle. Brittany Granados, a 10th-grade student at Tualatin High School, suffered serious injuries as a result of the crash.

Following the crash, Washington County sheriff’s deputies took Jesse Granados-Villegas into custody. He now faces charges of second-degree manslaughter, reckless driving, and driving under the influence of marijuana, as deputies identified the intoxicant involved. Authorities also believe that excessive speed played a significant role in the tragic incident.
