Farmer Dies in Alleged Tiger Attack in Wayanad District

Introduction

A tragic incident unfolded on Saturday as a farmer was killed in what is believed to be an encounter with a tiger at Koodallur near Vakery in Wayanad district. The Discovery

The partially eaten body of the farmer was discovered on a fodder farm near his house on Saturday evening. Earlier that day, Prajish had ventured approximately 500 metres away from his residence to collect fodder for his cows at around 11 a.m., as per accounts provided by his relatives. When he failed to return for lunch, his mother Sarada grew concerned and informed their neighbors and relatives. Together, they embarked on a joint search, ultimately locating his lifeless body on the farm.

Preliminary Investigation

Upon conducting a preliminary inspection, senior forest officials have suspected that Prajish fell victim to a tiger attack. The signs and evidence found at the scene suggest the involvement of a tiger in this unfortunate incident.

Community Outrage

Reports indicate that an agitated mob hindered the authorities from shifting the body from the site. Senior forest officials from the Forest Department had not yet arrived at the location, causing the local community to express their frustration and prevent any immediate action.
