Man Surrenders at Police Station with Severed Head of Wife, Suspecting Extra-Marital Affair

Nayagarh, Odisha: In a shocking incident that has left the community in dismay, a 35-year-old man brutally killed his wife on Saturday. Arjun Bagha, the accused, entered the Banigochha police station in Nayagarh district holding his wife’s severed head. The horrific act has raised concerns over the growing issue of domestic violence and suspicion of extra-marital affairs.

The incident took place in Bidapaju village, where Bagha allegedly murdered his wife, Dharitri, aged 30. The accused claimed that he suspected his wife’s involvement in an extra-marital affair, which led him to commit this heinous crime. He used a sharp weapon to kill his wife and later decapitated her. The police have detained Bagha and recovered the headless torso.

“An investigation into this gruesome incident is underway,” stated Laxman Dandasena, the inspector-in-charge of the Banigochha police station, expressing the gravity of the situation.

Serial Killer Arrested for Murdering Seven People Over 38 Years

Tandur, Telangana: In a chilling revelation, local authorities have arrested a man suspected of being a serial killer responsible for the murders of seven individuals over a span of 38 years. Kishtaiah, the accused, was apprehended by the Tandur police on Friday after being charged with the murder of his seventh victim, who had gone missing from Vikarabad on November 29. The shocking details of his crimes have sent shockwaves through the community.

According to police reports, Kishtaiah had been on a killing spree since 1985, primarily targeting women and robbing them. His modus operandi involved luring women with promises of employment, intoxicating them with toddy, and then carrying out the murders even for small sums of money. Surprisingly, Kishtaiah was released from jail in September due to a lack of evidence, raising concerns about the effectiveness of the justice system.

The breakthrough in the case occurred when Sarvabhi, the victim who went missing in November, was captured on CCTV footage engaging in a conversation with Kishtaiah. Further investigation led to the discovery of the victim’s body and Kishtaiah’s confession to not only her murder but also six other killings. The police revealed that Kishtaiah and Sarvabhi had traveled to Tattepalli, where he allegedly strangled her with her saree and stole her belongings, including silver anklets, Rs 1,000 in cash, and a mobile phone.

Kishtaiah’s criminal history dates back to his arrest by the Vikarabad police on March 21, 2021, for the murder of a woman who worked as a daily wage laborer. During that time, his wife was also charged with possessing stolen property. The authorities suspect that there may be more victims in neighboring districts, as Kishtaiah’s killing spree extended beyond Vikarabad, with cases registered in Yalala, Dharoor, Tandur, and Vikarabad.

“We are thoroughly investigating his involvement in other unsolved murder cases, and we urge the public to come forward with any information that may assist us in solving these crimes,” stated a police spokesperson.
