West Side Woman Faces First-Degree Murder Charge in West Garfield Park Shooting

A woman from the West Side of Chicago has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred in November in the West Garfield Park neighborhood, according to authorities from the Chicago Police Department.

Deja Colliins, a 23-year-old resident of the 4300 block of West Wilcox Street, has also been charged with three felony counts of attempted first-degree murder, as well as three counts of aggravated battery with a firearm, stated the police.

The charges against Collins were filed after she was identified as the individual responsible for the death of a 23-year-old man. Additionally, she allegedly shot three women aged 21, 24, and 31 in the 3600 block of West Flournoy Street, as per the police report.

Collins is set to appear at a detention hearing scheduled for Saturday.
