Rwamasika Rodgers, a resident of Rumumba cell in Kilembe Parish, Katenga sub-county, Mitooma District, was found dead on December 8, 2023. A local resident named Anthony discovered Rodgers’ lifeless body floating in the Katereza River, which serves as the boundary between Mitooma and Bushenyi Districts. Anthony immediately reported the incident to Kanyeihamba Deogratias, a 66-year-old individual recognized as the deceased’s father. Subsequently, Deogratias reported the matter to the local police, leading to an ongoing investigation.
According to Marcial Tumusiime, a plastic bottle containing waragi, a local alcoholic beverage, was found near a wooden bridge in close proximity to Rodgers’ body. Additionally, a minor scratch was observed on the deceased’s right shoulder.
