Investigation Launched into Suspected Robbery in Shawnee County

SHAWNEE COUNTY — Law enforcement authorities are currently conducting an investigation into an alleged robbery that occurred in Shawnee County. The incident took place at the Sonic drive-in located at 5922 SW 21st Street in Topeka, prompting police response late in the evening on December 3, according to information provided by Lt. Jerry Monasmith.

According to reports, a victim came forward and informed the police about a male suspect involved in the robbery. The suspect has been identified as 37-year-old William Kellogg. Eyewitnesses claim that Kellogg entered the establishment and forcefully demanded money. Compliance with the demands, the victim handed over an undisclosed amount of cash, after which Kellogg swiftly fled the scene.

In a stroke of luck, responding officers were able to locate and apprehend an individual matching Kellogg’s description without any further incident. This timely arrest has brought some relief to the community, as the suspect was swiftly taken into custody.

Following an extensive investigation, authorities have decided to transport William Kellogg to the Shawnee County Department of Corrections. He now faces charges of Robbery and possession of Drug Paraphernalia, as a result of evidence gathered during the investigation.
