We participated in The Hour of Code during Computer Science Education Week

As part of our commitment to providing quality education and preparing our students for the future, the students of #SageCreekLRSD recently participated in The Hour of Code during Computer Science Education Week. This event, which takes place annually, aims to introduce students to the world of coding and computer science through a series of fun and interactive activities.

The Hour of Code is a global movement that encourages students of all ages to spend at least one hour coding. It is a great opportunity for students to get a taste of what computer programming is all about and to develop their problem-solving and critical thinking skills. This year, our school decided to take part in this initiative, and it turned out to be a fantastic experience for everyone involved.

During the Hour of Code, students were introduced to the basics of coding through a series of simple activities. They learned how to write code to create simple paths and animations, which allowed them to better understand the logic behind computer programming. It was incredible to see how quickly the students grasped the concepts and how enthusiastic they were about coding.

The activities were designed to be engaging and accessible to students of all levels of coding experience. Whether they were complete beginners or had some prior knowledge, the Hour of Code provided an excellent opportunity for all students to learn and grow. The activities were tailored to the age and abilities of the students, ensuring that everyone could participate and enjoy the experience.

It was incredible to see how the students collaborated and supported one another, fostering a sense of unity and camaraderie.

Overall, the Hour of Code was a tremendous success. As educators, we believe that it is crucial to expose our students to new and emerging technologies.
