Two Georgia Residents Arrested in Washington County Drug Bust

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Fla. – In the early hours of Saturday morning, Washington County Sheriff’s officials made a significant drug bust after pulling over a car on State Road 79 near Ebro. Two individuals from Georgia were arrested on multiple drug-related charges.

The driver of the vehicle, identified as 19-year-old Jaquarious M. Anderson, initially failed to pull over immediately after the deputies initiated the traffic stop at around 2:30 a.m. Once the vehicle came to a stop, deputies detected a strong odor of narcotics emanating from inside the car.

Concerned by the scent, the deputies requested both the driver and the passenger in the front seat to step out of the vehicle for further investigation. Upon inspection, one of the deputies noticed a clear plastic bag containing a substance suspected to be methamphetamine.

As the deputy attempted to restrain the passenger, identified as 30-year-old John H. Ware IV, he resisted arrest, leading to the use of a taser by the deputy. Following the successful detainment of Ware, he began showing signs of a possible Fentanyl exposure, prompting immediate medical attention.

Ware was swiftly transported to the nearest hospital for evaluation and stabilization. During the medical examination, authorities discovered a blue pill on Ware’s person, which was later determined to be heroin after testing by the Panama City Beach PD.

Remarkably, the deputy who had apprehended Ware also started displaying similar symptoms of exposure and was promptly evaluated by medical professionals.

While conducting a thorough search of the vehicle and its occupants, the deputies uncovered a substantial quantity of methamphetamine, a bag containing a controlled substance, and drug paraphernalia.

Subsequent field tests confirmed that the narcotics found within the vehicle were indeed methamphetamine.

As a result of the investigation, the driver, Jaquarious M. Anderson, and another passenger, 21-year-old Jadlin L. King, both residents of Bainbridge, Georgia, were taken into custody. They were subsequently booked into the Washington County Jail, facing charges that include possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell or distribute, possession of a controlled substance, trafficking of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
