“Chicago weekend shootings 3 killed 7 hurt” : At least three dead and seven injured in Chicago weekend shootings, including Ismael Yanez

Accident – Death – Obituary News : CHICAGO (CBS) – Over the weekend, a series of shootings in Chicago left at least three people dead and seven others injured. The victims, ranging in age from 18 to 42, were involved in various incidents across the city.

On Friday evening, the first shooting occurred on the 6000 block of South Laflin Street. Police responded to a report of a man, 18, found unresponsive in the driver’s seat of a parked car. The man had suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene. According to a witness, the offender was shooting from a gray van that fled the scene.

Later that night, a 28-year-old man was traveling in the passenger seat of a car on the 700 block of North Homan Avenue. He was shot at by an unknown offender in a white SUV, which then fled the scene. The victim sustained a graze wound to the head and was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital in good condition.

In another incident, a 42-year-old man was shot and killed while driving in the 4500 block of South Pulaski Road around 10 p.m. The victim, identified as Ismael Yanez, was struck in the back of the head by gunfire. He was transported to Mt. Sinai Hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Additionally, a 24-year-old man was shot while in the passenger seat of a car on the 4400 block of South Wood Street. The victim was traveling in the car when he was struck in the back by gunfire. He was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in good condition.

The shootings continued into Saturday. At 1:17 a.m., in the 1600 block of North Hamlin Avenue, multiple people were struck by gunfire. A 31-year-old man, who is a carry concealed license holder, was approached by two gunmen in a vehicle. The victim produced a firearm and returned fire, striking the gunmen. He was shot in the torso and taken to Stroger Hospital in fair condition. Unfortunately, a 44-year-old occupant of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene, and a 37-year-old man was shot in the shoulder and taken to Mt. Sinai in fair condition.

In another incident on Saturday, a 23-year-old man was traveling in a vehicle on the 1700 block of North Harding Avenue when he heard shots fired and felt pain. He suffered a gunshot wound to the back and was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital in fair condition.

At 2:20 a.m. on Saturday, a 32-year-old man was traveling in a vehicle on the 5100 block of West North Avenue when he was shot at by an unidentified male offender in a black SUV. The victim sustained a gunshot wound to the neck and was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition.

Finally, on Sunday morning at 10:50 a.m., a 34-year-old man inside a vehicle on the 200 block of South Pulaski Road heard shots and felt pain. He self-transported to West Suburban Hospital and is in good condition.
