The first victim was a male juvenile of Asian American/Pacific Islander (AAPI) descent and a resident of L.A. County. Witnesses described the suspect as a Hispanic male in his 20s. He was seen driving a silver 2005 Honda Odyssey with a Nevada license plate number 183W80. Authorities worked diligently to apprehend the suspect and, on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, Angel Sanchez Jr., a 29-year-old male Hispanic resident of Santa Barbara, was located and arrested in the city of Oxnard. He was subsequently booked at the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station on charges of assault with force likely to produce great bodily injury.

It is important to note that both victims of the assaults were of Asian descent. However, the motive behind these attacks is still under investigation.
