Accident – Death – Obituary News : Alan Booth, a 72-year-old man, has been identified as the DUI driver allegedly involved in a tragic incident that occurred in Bakersfield, California, on Thursday, December 7, 2023. Booth reportedly hit three individuals with his car, who miraculously survived the crash. The identities of the victims have not been released to the public yet. However, two of them suffered critical injuries, while the third was moderately hurt, according to 23 ABC Bakersfield.

The victims, aged 21, 42, and 77, were struck by Booth’s car just before the Christmas parade in Bakersfield. A GoFundMe page was launched to support two of the victims, Rocky and Dominic, who are a father-son duo. The page states that they suffered multiple injuries, including a fractured skull, and are currently in a critical condition in the hospital. The family set a goal of $15,000, and as of now, $3,988 has been raised to aid their recovery.

Another GoFundMe page was started to provide assistance to the owner of the food truck that was hit by Booth’s car during the incident.

Alan Booth was reportedly driving at a high speed, and his car did not stop even after hitting the three individuals. Eventually, the vehicle came to a halt at the downtown Bakersfield Fire Station on H Street, as reported by Fox News.

Booth had been working in the real estate field for several years. According to Residential property broker Mary Sawyer, he was known for his active involvement in various service clubs. Although his real estate license expired in December 2020, he was recognized by Robin Ablin, another real estate agent in the Bakersfield area, as a “nice fellow.”

Bakersfield Police Chief Greg Terry confirmed that the Christmas parade was re-routed instead of being canceled or postponed after the incident. He stated that the decision to continue the parade was made after assessing the situation and ensuring public safety.
