Cha Jan Chang’s remarkable academic journey began at CMU, where he obtained his master’s degree in computer science in May 1986, as stated in his resume available on UNLV’s official website.

The shooting claimed the lives of four individuals, with Chang being identified as one of the victims. The coroner’s report confirmed that Chang’s cause of death was a fatal gunshot wound to the head.

Despite ongoing investigations, Sheriff Kevin McMahill has yet to determine the motive behind the shooting. However, he clarified that the perpetrator, Tony Polito, did not appear to be targeting students specifically. McMahill revealed that Polito entered the campus with a premeditated list of individuals he sought.

As a result of this tragedy, the university administration has made the decision to keep the campus closed on Friday. However, they tentatively plan to reopen next week to allow students to complete their final examinations, according to reports from The Associated Press.
