According to the Iroquois County Sheriff’s Department, the collision took place at the intersection of County Roads 2600N and 2900E near Donovan. Preliminary investigations revealed that a 2007 Toyota Camry failed to adhere to traffic regulations at the intersection, resulting in a catastrophic collision with a 2018 Ford Expedition.

The force of impact caused the Expedition to collide with the passenger side of the Camry, propelling both vehicles into a nearby roadside ditch. As a result of the crash, the Camry also struck a utility pole before overturning and rolling into a plowed field.

Tragically, the driver of the Camry, identified as 60-year-old Martin Perez from Morocco, Indiana, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Iroquois County Coroner. Perez was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

The Expedition had three occupants, including the 42-year-old driver from Donovan and two other passengers. Fortunately, all three individuals are currently reported to be in stable condition and receiving treatment at Riverside Hospital.
