Concerns Mount Over Safety of High-Profile Inmates in Federal Prisons as Derek Chauvin and Larry Nassar Face Attacks

Larry Nassar, the ex-U.S. women’s gymnastics team doctor who sexually abused athletes, was stabbed multiple times in the neck, chest, and back on July 9th at a federal penitentiary in Coleman, Florida. Other inmates intervened to stop the attack before officers arrived. Nassar suffered a collapsed lung and had to receive medical treatment.
