Suspect Arrested for Shooting at Columbus Apartment Complex

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) – The Columbus Police Department has successfully apprehended a suspect involved in a shooting incident at the Highland Terrace Apartments located on Apex Road.

Law enforcement officials reported that on the evening of November 20th, at approximately 8:52 p.m., officers swiftly responded to a distress call regarding a shooting at the aforementioned apartment complex. Upon arriving at the scene, authorities were informed that the suspect had allegedly fired shots at a security guard after being confronted for trespassing on the property.

The suspect in question has been identified as 18-year-old William Coulter. Following the incident, several warrants for his arrest were issued.

After an extensive investigation, on December 8th, the Columbus Police Department successfully apprehended Coulter. He has been charged with aggravated assault and the illegal possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

Coulter is scheduled to appear in Recorder’s Court on Monday, December 11th, at 9 a.m.m.
