The Victim of Monday Evening Shooting in Springfield Identified

The Hampden County District Attorney’s Office has identified the man who was fatally shot in a Springfield neighborhood on Monday evening. The victim has been named as Billy Spivey Jr., a 44-year-old resident of Springfield, according to the office.

The incident occurred on Albemarle Street, in the 100 block, at around 6:05 p.m. on December 4. Spivey was found with gunshot wounds and was immediately transported to Baystate Medical Center. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital, the district attorney’s office confirmed.

Albemarle Street, where the shooting took place, is situated between American International College and Springfield College. The residential street is lined with houses, creating a sense of shock and fear among the local community.
