46-Year-Old NRG Satyen Naik Shot Dead in North Carolina Motel by Squatter

Accident – death – Obituary News : Surat: A tragic incident unfolded in Newport, North Carolina, USA, when a 46-year-old NRG from Sonwadi village in Gandevi taluka of Navsari district was shot dead by a squatter at his motel. The victim, Satyen Naik, was fired upon by Troy Kellum, aged 59, who later took his own life.

The incident occurred on Wednesday morning when Satyen’s staff alerted him that someone had entered one of the rooms at the Hostess House motel and had locked himself inside. Unaware that the intruder was armed, Satyen attempted to open the room. However, as soon as the door opened, the person inside fired a gun, severely injuring Satyen.

Satyen was immediately rushed to Carteret Health Care, a nearby hospital, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries and passed away. He leaves behind his wife, Ekta Naik, two children, and his mother.

Upon receiving a distress call, the police promptly arrived at the scene. As Kellum, the suspect, was still barricaded inside the room, a Special Response Team (SRT) was called in to negotiate with him. Despite their efforts to persuade Kellum to surrender, he refused. In a tragic turn of events, Kellum ended his own life by shooting himself with the same gun he had used to attack Satyen.

The incident prompted the police to impose a soft lockdown on several schools and nearby roads as a precautionary measure. The lockdown was lifted once the police had secured the area and ensured the safety of the public.

Harnish, Satyen’s cousin from Sonwadi village, expressed his grief over the loss. He described Satyen as a gentle and composed individual who regularly visited India. Satyen had obtained a bachelor’s degree in business management and was well-respected by those who knew him.

In recent news, a 35-year-old man from Delhi was arrested by the Byculla police in Mumbai for allegedly opening fire on three individuals in Mazgaon. Ahmed Shaikh, also known as Munna Pathan, was apprehended, while two other suspects, Imran alias Babu Shaikh and Aurangzeb alias Sheru Khan, had already been taken into custody. The incident occurred when two men on a bike arrived at the location where the victims were sitting, and Munna Pathan fired a round, injuring one of them.

In another shocking incident, a notorious gangster from Uttar Pradesh, Aman Singh, was shot and killed inside Dhanbad jail. Sundar Mahto, a fellow inmate, has been identified as the perpetrator. The weapon used in the crime is still missing, raising concerns about the security within Dhanbad jail. Previous revelations had exposed the involvement of criminals, including Aman Singh, in running a ransom racket from inside the prison. Aman had expressed fears of being targeted for execution while incarcerated.
