Woman Allegedly Struck by Jose Roldan Vazquez with SUV After Argument on Date

Accident – Death – Obituary News : Des Plaines, Ill. – A terrifying incident unfolded in northwest suburban Des Plaines when a date took a dangerous turn. The entire episode was captured on video, according to local police.

The suspect, identified as 37-year-old Jose Roldan Vazquez from Mount Prospect, allegedly struck a woman he met on a dating site with his SUV after an argument. The Des Plaines officers patrolling the area of Golf Road and Mount Prospect Road were alerted by a scream coming from a woman on the northwest corner of the intersection. Rushing to the scene, the officers found the woman knocking on the front door of a nearby business.

The victim, whose clothes were wet and disheveled, explained to the officers that Vazquez had hit her with his vehicle. The woman had agreed to meet Vazquez in a parking lot after connecting on a dating app. She got into Vazquez’s white Ford SUV, but shortly after returning to the parking lot, a verbal argument broke out.

In an attempt to escape, the victim exited the vehicle. However, Vazquez allegedly rammed his SUV towards her, causing her to fall to the ground. Thankfully, the woman’s injuries were not life-threatening.

Officers were able to trace Vazquez back to his home address in Mount Prospect, leading to his arrest early Tuesday morning. Vazquez now faces serious charges, including one felony count of aggravated battery and failure to report a personal injury due to a motor vehicle accident. Additionally, he was cited for driving without insurance.
