Accident – death – Obituary News : LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The Clark County Office of the Coroner/Medical Examiner has recently released the identities of two individuals who tragically lost their lives in the UNLV campus shooting that occurred yesterday. In a press statement issued on Thursday afternoon, the office shared that the first victim is Professor Cha Jan Chang, a 64-year-old Henderson resident widely known as “Jerry.” The cause of Professor Chang’s death was determined to be a homicide resulting from a gunshot wound to the head.

Assistant Professor Patricia Navarro Velez, a 39-year-old Las Vegas resident, has also been identified as one of the victims. Tragically, like Professor Chang, her cause and manner of death were determined to be the same, resulting from a fatal gunshot wound to the head.
