Accident – Death – Obituary News : BREAKING | Two Women Charged in Connection with Death of Nursing Assistant Odhran Kelly

Police in Northern Ireland have charged two women in connection with the death of 23-year-old nursing assistant Odhran Kelly. The women, aged 43 and 36, have been charged with assisting an offender and are due to appear before Lisburn Magistrates’ Court on Thursday. Their charges come after two 31-year-old men were arrested as part of the ongoing police investigation. Both men are currently in police custody.

The body of Mr. Kelly was discovered in the early hours of Sunday in the Edward Street area of Lurgan, Co Armagh. The grim discovery was made beside a burning car in Maple Court. Police have since launched a murder investigation and have formally identified Mr. Kelly. A post-mortem examination has been conducted to determine the cause of death.

Detective Chief Inspector Tony Kelly of the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) expressed his condolences to Mr. Kelly’s family and assured them that the investigation is ongoing. He stated, “While our investigation is at an early stage, I do not believe there is an organized crime link.” DCI Kelly urged anyone who was in the Edward Street or Francis Street areas of Lurgan between 2 am and 5 am on Sunday to come forward if they noticed any suspicious activity.

DUP MP Carla Lockhart also appealed to the public for information. She said, “People in Lurgan are still shocked at this murder, and the thoughts of everyone are with the Kelly family as they struggle to comprehend this terrible tragedy.” MP Lockhart commended the efforts of the police in their tireless work on the case and stressed the importance of bringing those responsible to justice.

In remembrance of Mr. Kelly, a vigil was held in Lurgan on Wednesday. Hundreds of people gathered in Edward Street to pay their respects. Balloons, candles, and flowers were brought to the vigil, and some family members were seen wearing T-shirts that read ‘Justice for Odhran’. The local community came together to support each other and show solidarity with the grieving family.
