Three Years Later, Jose Dominguez-Garcia Finally in Custody for the Murder of Rosaly Rodriguez

Accident – death – Obituary News : Chippewa County, Wisconsin – The family of Rosaly Rodriguez, a Sauk County woman whose body was discovered in a rural area of Chippewa County three years ago, expressed their gratitude as the man charged in her death has finally been apprehended. Jose Dominguez-Garcia, the suspect in the murder case, was taken into custody on Thanksgiving Day in Missouri after evading law enforcement for an extended period.

In October 2020, investigators uncovered the remains of Rosaly Rodriguez at an abandoned farm located in the Town of Wheaton. Tragically, she was pregnant at the time of her death. Following the discovery, an arrest warrant was issued for Jose Dominguez-Garcia, who fled the scene. However, after three long years, he was finally captured in Missouri, providing some solace to the grieving family.

During his initial appearance in Chippewa County Court on Wednesday, Dominguez-Garcia appeared via video. The court set his bond at $1 million. The family’s attorney, Julian Andriusis, expressed their relief at seeing justice being served. He stated, “That’s a big relief for the father. He feels, I guess it brings relief to the people when somebody gets arrested.”

Jose Dominguez-Garcia is now facing charges of first-degree intentional homicide and hiding a corpse. Rosaly Rodriguez, a resident of Reedsburg, Wisconsin, was tragically found deceased inside a suitcase on an abandoned farm along County Highway T.

Chippewa County District Attorney Wade Newell revealed that a vehicle associated with the defendant was discovered abandoned and appeared to have been utilized to transport the suitcase containing the victim’s body to Chippewa County.

According to the criminal complaint, Dominguez-Garcia also purchased a cell phone in Eau Claire, not far from the farm. When Rodriguez was reported missing, Dominguez-Garcia informed investigators that they had engaged in an argument during which she confessed to no longer wanting to be in a relationship with him. Moreover, she revealed that she was pregnant with another man’s child. Following the discovery of her body, Dominguez-Garcia was identified as a suspect in her murder.

In a heart-wrenching victim statement submitted to the court by Rodriguez’s father, he expressed his irreparable loss, saying, “I will never be able to recover the love that I had for my daughter again, that this criminal murderer has taken away the greatest treasure I had.”

On November 30, Jose Dominguez-Garcia was transported back to Chippewa County from Missouri, where he had been apprehended. The arrest occurred in Gladstone, Missouri, after automated license plate readers detected a vehicle with stolen plates. Police officers located the vehicle in a parking lot and subsequently identified the driver as Dominguez-Garcia. He is currently being held in Chippewa County Jail on charges related to the homicide of Rosaly Rodriguez.
